Coming off a ship?

Cozumel tours for cruise passengers

You have one day and a hard deadline. This page is the logistics — piers, taxi times, how much fits in five hours, and what happens if your ship moves.

The three piers, and how far they are

Cozumel has three cruise berths and which one you get is decided by your line, not by you. All three are on the west coast, within 4 km of downtown San Miguel.

Punta Langosta

Carnival, Holland America, Princess

Downtown, connected to the shops by a footbridge. You step off into San Miguel — no taxi needed to reach town.

International Pier (SSA)

Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Norwegian

About 4 km south of downtown. Roughly 10 minutes and a flat-rate taxi into San Miguel.

Puerta Maya

Carnival brands

Next door to the International Pier, same distance. Big shopping village at the gangway — walk through it to reach the road.

What actually fits in a port day

Most ships give you seven to nine hours ashore, and the all-aboard is 30 to 60 minutes before departure. Take an hour off the top for disembarking and getting through the pier, and an hour of margin at the end. What's left is what you can really spend on the island.

4 hours ashore
Reef snorkeling, or the bee sanctuary, or a beach club. One thing, done properly.
5 to 6 hours
San Gervasio and the museum, or a cultural workshop with time to eat.
7 hours or more
The full island loop: Punta Sur, El Mirador, El Cedral and the wild east coast.

The question everybody actually asks

Yes, you can book outside the ship. No, the ship will not wait for an independent operator — that is the real difference and nobody should tell you otherwise. What we do about it: we plan every tour backwards from your all-aboard time, we build in an hour of margin, and if the ship changes its schedule we move the tour instead of losing your day. Give us your ship name and all-aboard time when you book, and message us the moment anything changes.

Ask about your ship's schedule

Why book with us instead of the ship

  • Small groups. Not four coaches leaving at once.
  • One guide, one departure a day, so the day is yours and not a conveyor belt.
  • You deal directly with the person driving and guiding — the same person who answers your message.
  • The stops are the ones a local would pick, not the ones with the biggest commission.
